Living Dead Dolls part 4

So it's been a while since I posted. Bought a bunch of dolls since the last time.

From the Scary Tales series I got Little Red Riding Hood. Love the color of her hair.

And also got The Big Bad Wolf.

I also picked up on my trip to Ottawa Little Bo Creep. She has a cute sheep hat and a pink Hannibal Lector style mask.

My last purchase from the Scary Tales series and my most recent purchase is The Headless Horseman. An exclusive version was released that comes with a plushie horse but I didn't buy it.

So that's it for now. I have to go to work. I'll hopefully continue with this later.

New tops!

Such a random post but I felt like sharing the tops that I bought online.
It's hard to find funky, gothish tops at the mall cause well, I'm not skinny. I also have boobs :P
So tops can get on te snug side for me.
And I also wanted something different than my usual all black tees.

Still waiting on the arrival of the first 2.

This one will obviously need a tank top underneath :P

This one has, I guess you would call it peek-a-boo sleeves. A bit on the loose side. I have to wear a tank top underneath cause he falls off the shoulders. The skull pattern is cute.

This one was from Target. The only shirt in the whole store that I liked.

So far my fav. Fits well. Love the lace on top.

New Leather bound books

I figured it was about time that I buy some fancy looking books. I've seen variations of leather bound books and always wanted some. So first one I got was the complete collection of Edgar Allan Poe.

Of course Dracula. What every 'dark' or 'goth' person needs in their collection. It's a classic.

Same with Frankenstein.

Was super excited when I realized they had a leather bound version of Stephen King. With of course my favourite book, Carrie.

And the famous Anne Rice vampire chronicles.

Haven't started any of them yet since my book shelf is over flowing with books. But I'l have to pick up one of these beauties soon.

Living Dead Dolls part 3

It's been a while since my last post. Haven't bought a doll since the beginning of March. No room to put them anywhere until I move in with the boyfriend.
So here are a couple that I got but never got around to posting about them...until now.

So Bloody Mary is part of series 17, Urban Legends. A series I hope to have all of. Though some of the dolls aren't cheap. I was lucky to get her for under $100.

We all know him. If you don't, then you've been living under a rock. Billy from Saw. One of my fav horror movies. Though, they could have stopped at 3 or 4. Great concept for a film nonetheless.

A very famous horror icon, Leatherface. Incredibly cute doll. Love his face. And one more horror doll off my list.

And last, but not least, Walpurgis. Probably my most wanted doll. Maybe tied with Edward Scissorhands. Hard to find and not really cheap. Only released in Germany. Love the Satanic look she has. Especially with her goat mask.

So for now, that is all. Series 25 is set to release at the end of May. Record store downtown told me they ordered new dolls whenever a new series is released. So next payday I'll make my way down there. There is only 2 in that series that stand out to me.
I preordered a new scary tales doll. Little Bo Creep. That's out in June.
I also preordered dolls based on the movie Psycho. A set of 2. That's not set to release until October I think.
Then a new Universal Monsters doll is out. Dracula.
And then Series 26, based on witches. I think that one is set for release in September. I have no idea how they look yet but I preordered the whole series. Cheaper to do it that way. Instead of getting them one by one. And witches are my fav supernatural beings. So I couldn't pass that up.
I guess that's enough yapping about my dolls for today :P

Living Dead Dolls part 2

So I got more dolls since my last post :P
Can't wait for decent pay checks so I can get more. My buying has been slow recently.

So here is the lovely Snow White. She is from Scary Tales vol 4.

And her Evil Stepmother.

From Series 24 Andras. Another of the demon series.

Of course when I came across this at my local record store, couldn't leave him there. He was one of the ones on my must have lists. Mr. Freddy Krueger. There was 2 released on 2010. One based on the remake and the 'classic' Freddy. Which is what I was lucky to get.

When I first saw that they were doing Universal Studios Living Dead Dolls, I had to get them. Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman...Those are like the most popular movie figures EVER. So Volume One, Frankenstein

And The Bride.

So continuing with my horror movie collection. Finally decided to get Chucky. He's been at the record store for a while. And the dolls on the top of my list are all the ones that are based on movie characters. So he was another must.

This doll wasn't originally on my list but when I came across her, I really liked her. Cute hair, lovely dress and cool wings. Demonique is part of Resurrection series 6. And she is a variant. So apparently, there was less than 100 made. And I am one of the hundred.

So that is all for now. I have a couple more on the way in the mail :D

I'm saddened that these magazines are no more. Would be great if they made digital editions. Would love to read the rest.

Here is a link for their website for anyone who may want to snag whatever issues that are left.

And here is the page that has Nox Arcana music that you can sample if you are into gothic, instrumental stuff.

Dark Realms magazine part 1

A couple of years ago, I came across a magazine that had to be the most perfect magazine for me. Topics like werewolves and vampires to superstitions and hauntings and anything else in between that may seem dark or gothic. Sadly as soon as I discovered this magazine, the final issue was released. And many back issues were already sold out.

So currently I only have a handful of issues and finding other back issues is like searching for the holy grail.

Eventually I went back to the site to take a peek and found that they had added some issues that weren't available before. There was three that I needed that I didn't have and two to replace the ones that were damaged from a major leak in my room.

When I finally had the money to get them, one of the issues were sold out. Issue 3. The earliest available. Sad moment for me :( But I did get the other two that I didn't have.

When they arrived, I was pleased to discover that Joseph Vargo had signed the issues I bought. He illustrated the covers of all the issues and he is one of members of Nox Arcana who write wickedly awesome, instrumental, gothic music.

The inside of the magazine has black and white, glossy pages. In every issue there is:
Artist Spotlight. Fantasy type artists would be featured in that page.

They have short stories.

Movie, music and book reviews.
